Asparagus soothsayer makes predictions for 2023 – shocks royal birth and World Cup glory

Last Updated on December 30, 2022 by

Jemima Packington, who is the world’s only ‘asparamant’ and makes predictions based on how her asparagus tops fall off after throwing them in the air, has revealed what’s to come in 2023

A fortune teller who predicted the Queen’s death and Brexit by throwing asparagus in the air has shared her predictions for the new year – and there are some big surprises.

There is set to be another royal birth and savvy Britons copying Tom and Barbara from The Good Life to combat the cost of living crisis.

Jemima Packington, 66, is the world’s only ‘aparamancer’ who claims she can peer into the future by throwing a handful of spears in the air and interpreting how they land.

She had previously correctly predicted Brexit, the Queen’s death, and Harry and Meghan’s storm involving the royals.

Jemima now predicts more ups and downs for the royals in 2023 and struggling Britons digging deep to grow their own food.

She says the hints show there will be another royal birth and the coronation of King Charles will provide a joyous time and help unite the country through yet another turbulent year.

Meanwhile, households across the country are expected to become smarter with the cost of living crisis, with the government even considering food rationing.

Many of us will turn our gardens and flower beds into vegetable gardens to keep our food bills down, says Jemima.

The ongoing strikes will cause unrest among people struggling and those better off, she adds.

Jemima, from Bath, Somerset, started predicting at the age of eight and says she got the gift from her elderly aunt who used to read tea leaves.

She said: “My technique hasn’t changed and I still throw the asparagus spears and interpret the patterns on them.

“Seeing patterns for me is instantaneous, possibly because I have years of practice.

“Typically, I’m about 75% to 90% accurate with my predictions. I review my predictions every year and think, ‘Yes, that happened, yes, that happened.’

“Occasionally I get a little wrong where I don’t read it correctly, but I’m never far away.

“I predicted that Boris Johnson would become Prime Minister before him and everyone laughed a lot.”

In the world of politics, high-profile public figures will be exposed as corrupt, predicts Jemima.

In showbiz, more Hollywood stars are coming out as gay, including several unexpected revelations.

The coming year will also see unexpected celebrity deaths, including some who die young.

There will be happier outcomes in the sporting world, with Jemima predicting that England manager Gareth Southgate will receive a New Year’s honour.

The Lionesses are also expected to follow up their Euro 2022 triumph by taking the World Cup home.

Meanwhile, top flight rugby clubs will continue to struggle with more following in the footsteps of Wasps and Worcester Warriors and talk of some players returning to ‘semi-professional’ status.

Jemima says she reads the shapes of asparagus spears as they land and boasts an impressive 70-95% accuracy rate.

Despite his frighteningly accurate predictions, some of his 2022 tips have turned out to be wrong.

She predicted that Boris Johnson would remain prime minister, when in fact he was forced to step down in the summer after a series of scandals followed by a series of Conservative resignations.

However, she also predicted her return to Downing Street in the future.

She also said that Sir Keir Starmer would not continue as Labor leader, when in reality he now has a 26-point lead over the Conservatives.

In the world of sport, Jemima said that Manchester City would not win the Premier League when they beat Liverpool to the title by one point.

She also said her asparagus spears said Croatia would win the World Cup when they finished third behind runners-up France and champions Argentina.

Jemima also failed to predict England’s victory in the Cricket World Cup and said that the women’s rugby team would be successful in the World Cup.

His divination process involves taking a handful of spikes, throwing them in the air and “reading” the shapes they form when they land.

Jemima said she saw the vegetable spears in the shape of a broken crown just a few months before the Queen’s death on September 8.

She said: “The spears formed a broken crown which indicated to me that there would be great royal sadness.

“When I saw the pictures of the Queen welcoming Liz Truss as Prime Minister I noticed how fragile she looked and I said to my friend ‘it won’t be long’.

“I thought back to my spear readings and thought to myself ‘oh no’.

“I’m a huge fan of the Queen and I was very sad when she died.”

Jemima uses fresh Worcestershire asparagus grown in the Vale of Evesham – the main supplier of the vegetable in the UK.
