It seems like a lifetime ago, but these two sides met right at the start of this World Cup, playing out a goalless draw. Check out the highlights above if you forgot.
‘We’d like to be on the podium’

Morocco can be proud to play their seventh match at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, even if it’s not Sunday’s final, says coach Walid Regragui.
Their historic run has seen them become the first African nation to reach the semi-finals.
“We would like things to go differently and play in the final,” said Regragui. “There is another game to play, we would like to get on the podium.
“I understand that it’s important to finish third rather than fourth, but my conclusion is that we didn’t reach the final. We wanted to play the final on Sunday, not Saturday.
“But I have told my players that this is our seventh World Cup match. If you told a Morocco fan that we would play our seventh match on 17 December, they would be proud.
“Morocco have played six World Cup games in 20-odd years and now we’ve played six games in one month – that’s priceless. It’s like we’ve played two World Cups or even more, it’s beautiful from a football point of view. ‘experience”.
Modric to keep on going?
Getty ImagesCopyright: Getty Images
Luka Modric may be 37, but this may not be the last time we see him in a major tournament.
Croatia coach Zlatko Dalic hopes the midfielder will continue playing for the national team long enough to participate in the 2024 European Championships.
“I hope there will be,” Dalic said. “I look forward.
“He’s pretty sure he’s going to be there, but he’s going to decide how he feels. I personally feel he’s going to be there, but ultimately it’s his decision.”

GOAT goading
BBC Sport at Khalifa International Stadium
Speaking of photography, the Argentina players goading the Netherlands after winning the quarter-final on penalties is THE best photo taken at this World Cup.
The world of sports photography…
Get a real world view of a match day photographer in the press center today.
Today was the day they had to sign on to bid for the World Cup Final and the positions given to some are creating a LOT of discussions.
One couple are delighted to have been awarded a place behind goal, but a few others were not so lucky and wondered how they could snap that crucial winning goal or iconic celebration from the sidelines.
I never thought about it before…
Hakimi’s motherly love & road to top
Video content
Images of Achraf Hakimi embracing his mother after every major win on Morocco’s route to the semi-final went viral during the World Cup.
They were some of many special snapshots capturing a memorable and historic tournament for Morocco in Qatar – and they still have one last dance.
Manager Walid Regragui may have described the third-place play-off as an ‘explosive prize’ but when Hakimi and Morocco take on Croatia today it is a chance for the African side to create another celebratory night for fans at home.
Paris St-Germain full-back Hakimi has been at the heart of Morocco’s journey, and after their semi-final defeat by France he tweeted that “the dream of a team, of an entire country, is over”.
But is there another special night to come from Morocco, who have already become the first African nation to reach the semi-finals of a World Cup?
‘A fairy tale winning finish’
I was gutted for Morocco, who were running out of defenders from the injuries they sustained before and during their semi-final defeat to France.
I also wonder about all the emotions they consumed during their incredible run to the semi-finals, and whether they might all be feeling a little sluggish now that their dream is over.
Morocco will still desperately try to win this match and finish third, while I’m not sure what the selection or mentality of Croatia will be.
They drew 0-0 when they met in the group stage, but this time, if both teams are as strong as they can be and go for the win, I would support Croatia.
I don’t think it will happen though, so let’s give the Morocco fairy tale a winning ending.
‘Allez le Maghrib, Allez le Maghrib’
Wherever a group of Morocco fans are, you can guarantee the TV cameras won’t be far away.
This group is asked to launch into a song – duly obliged.
Team news

Croatia makes five changes to the team beaten by Argentina in the semi-finals.
Josip Stanisic, Josip Sutalo, Mislav Orsic, Marko Livaja, Lovro Majer all enter while Josip Juranovic, Dejan Lovren, Borna Sosa, Marcelo Brozovic and Mario Pasalic retire.
Luka Modric is the team captain, playing alongside Chelsea midfielder Mateo Kovacic.

Sham, too early to remember the current bottom-of-the-table Huddersfield players of our day in the Premier League…
You could see Sabiri’s talent when he was at the Terriers, but it was always difficult to impress in a team battling relegation. It’s good to see him doing well now.

Moroccan boss Walid Regragui said after the semi-final loss to France that he will give many of the squad’s players a run-out today.
Former Huddersfield Town winger Abdelhamid Sabiri started, having come on as a substitute and scored in the group stage win over Belgium earlier in the tournament.
From Kirkheaton to Casablanca, everyone will be glued to their televisions.

There’s a little of the inevitable after the mayor’s show around the stadium today.
Still many Moroccan fans mingling, but without the fervor and excitement that made them one of the tournament’s successes.
Talking to a couple, they believe that many were out for the game and that the game is still important to them.
“Third place is beyond what we could dream of,” said Turkish fan Yildiz.
Security bumped up “just in case”
BBC Sport at Khalifa International Stadium
This is my 21st match at this World Cup (and I have a press ticket for tomorrow too, woooo!).
But today there is a HUGE, HUGE police presence outside Khalifa International Stadium, more than I’ve ever seen in any game during the tournament. Many barriers have also been erected.
Baggage checks are strict and I asked a policeman why security has been increased.
He said authorities don’t expect any problems, but “just in case” something kicks off.
Better safe than sorry, I guess.
Morocco protest about semi-final referee
Getty ImagesCopyright: Getty Images
Morocco may have gone further than anyone expected, but not everyone is happy with how the fairy tale ended.
Morocco’s football federation (FMRF) has complained to world governing body Fifa over refereeing during their semi-final defeat to defending champions France,
FMRF are unhappy Mexican referee Cesar Ramos failed to award the North Africans a first-half penalty when Theo Hernandez made contact with Sofiane Boufal in the box.
Instead of conceding a penalty, Ramos instead booked winger Boufal for a foul.
The Moroccans were also unhappy that even the dragging of substitute Selim Amallah as he awaited a set piece delivery did not elicit another glance from the referees.
“The FMRF has written to the relevant body to review the refereeing decisions which deprived the Moroccan team of two penalties which were indisputable from the point of view of several refereeing specialists,” the Moroccan ruling body said in a statement.
“The FMRF was equally astounded that the video assistant referee (VAR) did not react to these situations.”
